December 14, 2021 - 21 colleagues from the S&T Diplomatic Circle Shanghai joined the visit to Pinduoduo, which was was founded in 2015 and has since grown to become the biggest online marketplace for agricultural products in China. Through its platform, Pinduoduo has worked with more than 16 million growers and their communities, helping them to take part in- and to benefit from the fast-growing digital economy.
As the leading online agriculture marketplace in China, Pinduoduo has made improving the productivity and efficiency of the agriculture industry supply chain its strategic focus. By making agricultural produce more easily discoverable and enabling the aggregation of demand, Pinduoduo is widening market access for farmers by increasing the potential pool of buyers and matching demand with supply. At the same time, Pinduoduo is enabling food to go from farm to table by connecting consumers directly to growers.
